Rintu Anowar is a fearless journalist, writer, political analyst, organizer, social worker, and entrepreneur. He has always stood as an uncompromising soldier against injustice in every sphere of life. Though he could not participate in the Liberation War, his unwavering love for the land and people of his motherland has long driven him to hold the pen of truth—guiding countless minds from darkness to light.
Alongside his work in business, politics, and social service, Rintu Anowar has established himself as a nationally respected journalist and columnist. His writings set an enduring example of honesty, integrity, and objectivity. Since the 1980s, he has been actively involved in journalism and various social activities.
He was born into a distinguished Muslim family at the historic Altaf Hossain Miah Bari of South Karimpur village, Daganbhuiyan upazila, Feni district. His father, the late Jahangir Kabir, was a senior government bank official, and his mother, the late Momena Begum, was a respected social worker and homemaker who raised three sons and two daughters. His grandfather, the late Altaf Hossain Miah (Altu Miah), and maternal grandfather, the late Abdul Awal Miah, were once among the most influential figures of Daganbhuiyan. His uncle, the late Humayun Kabir Selim, was a repeatedly elected popular public representative of the then undivided Daganbhuiyan Sadar Union.
Rintu Anowar completed both his M.Com Hons-B.Com and Master’s degree from the University of Dhaka and also earned a diploma in Journalism. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Social Welfare and Social Service. He began his professional career in journalism, later expanding into entrepreneurship by establishing several ventures, including a printing press, production factories, and newspaper publications.
For more than four decades, he has been deeply engaged in writing and journalism across multiple platforms. His works have been published, both under his name and pseudonyms, in numerous daily newspapers, weeklies, and journals at home and abroad. Known for his unique choice of topics, he presents even the most complex issues in a clear and accessible way.
In addition to leading his business conglomerate, Nirapad Group, Rintu Anowar serves as the Editor and Publisher of Dainik Dinbodol (a national daily from Dhaka), Weekly Nirapad Protibedon, and Weekly Taroka. He is also the Central Chairman of the Bangladesh Weekly Newspaper Editors Council (BSPEP), the “Nirapad Khaddo Chai” social movement, Jahangir-Momena Foundation, and the Asian Journalist Human Rights and Cultural Foundation (AJHRCF). Moreover, he chairs the UNESCO Club (Bangladesh) and Lions Club International 315/B1 (Prestige Concern). He is a lifetime member of Feni Samity (Dhaka), Daganbhuiyan Samity, and Daganbhuiyan Foundation.
His professional and social commitments have taken him across the world, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and India, among others. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to business, social service, organizational leadership, and anti-drug campaigns, he has received numerous awards and honors from both national and international organizations.
As an author, Rintu Anowar has published more than 30 analytical books focused on politics, economics, and social reforms. In addition, 20 more books—including novels, stories, plays, and works on language in the media—have been published by Akash Prokashoni, earning wide readership and appreciation.
Among his siblings, all of whom are well-established in their respective fields, Rintu Anowar is the second child. His life partner, Mollika Anowar, is a devoted homemaker. Together they have three children: Afrin Anowar Upama (MBA), Abir Anowar Upal (MSc-BA), and Airin Anowar Uttama (College).
As a distinguished social and political analyst, Rintu Anowar firmly believes that love for one’s country inspires brotherhood among people and teaches mutual respect and compassion.
